Three sips for strong bones

Many people don’t get enough calcium. This is a serious problem as it is important at any age to keep bones strong. With Calcifort, Campina has found a solution for Belgian consumers.

In the spring of 2007 Campina introduced Calcifort on the Belgian market. A little 100 ml bottle of Campina Calcifort yoghurt drink contains no less than 400 mg calcium. Calcium is good for human health, but at this quantity the taste quickly deteriorates. With Calcifort, Campina has created a calcium-rich yoghurt drink without making any concessions to the taste experience valued by so many consumers. And on top of that, Campina Calcifort is fat-free.

Building and maintaining strong bones
Nowadays, more and more people are keen to stay active longer. It is therefore crucial that consumers realise the importance of strong bones and the value of building strong bones from an early age. Campina Calcifort is therefore for all age groups. 

Bones grow the fastest until age 18. Then, once we reach 30, bone mass gradually begins to decline more quickly than it grows. This ultimately leads to brittle bones, which can happen as early as age 50.

By consuming enough calcium, bone mass can continue to grow and bones stay strong. With Campina Calcifort, consumers ingest 400 mg of calcium in just two to three sips. Depending on the age of the consumer, Campina Calcifort therefore satisfies around half the recommended daily requirement for calcium. This constitutes a significant contribution to our essential calcium intake.
 
Conscious
Campina considers it important to make consumers aware of our growing calcium deficiency. Various informative materials have been made available to Belgian consumers, enabling them to determine whether they are getting enough calcium.
